MakeMoneyDrop is a digital platform built to simplify the process of converting gift cards to real cash. Whether it’s a leftover Amazon card or a gift you don’t need, it turns into spendable money in minutes.
OBJECTIVE
Make Money Drop was designed to give people a fast, reliable way to buy and sell gift cards and actually get paid for them. The goal was to build a platform where unused or unwanted gift cards don't just sit in a drawer collecting dust, but become real money in your pocket. The project covered the full design process: user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mobile screens, and a landing page.
CHALLENGES
Gift card marketplaces already exist, but most of them feel either untrustworthy or unnecessarily complicated. The real challenge was designing an experience that felt safe and transparent, users needed to feel confident they'd actually receive payment, and that the cards they were buying were legitimate. There was also the UX challenge of catering to two very different user types: sellers looking to offload gift cards quickly, and buyers looking for deals.
SOLUTION
The app was structured around two clear pathways: sell a card and buy a card. Each flow was kept lean with minimal steps so users could complete a transaction quickly.
The landing page was designed to immediately answer the "is this legit?" question new visitors always have, leading with the value proposition and social proof before anything else.
